Built for promoters, venues and collectives

Built for the people
who fill rooms.

01

Grow an audience.

Start with the fans you already have. Bring your contact list into Backroom and keep every contact with your organizer, not in a shared pool.

02

Bring fans back.

Design announcements, presale invites and reminders with blocks made for event nights, and check them on mobile before they go anywhere.

03

Connect campaigns to ticket sales.

Pulse is being built to link campaigns to purchases on AFTR DARK Tickets and, through Eventbrite sync, to sales elsewhere. You’ll see which emails moved tickets, not just which got clicks.

04

Run it all from Backroom.

Your events, your audience and your emails, all under the Backroom login you already use. Everything is scoped to your organizer.

Audience imports In the beta

Bring the list
you already have.

Upload your contact export and Pulse reviews it before anything is saved. You’ll see what’s ready, what’s duplicated and what needs fixing, before a single contact joins your audience.

  • Your fans stay yours. Contacts belong to your organizer. Other organizers never see them.
  • Unsubscribes stick. A new import or a list refresh can’t opt someone back in.
  • A ticket isn’t a subscription. Buying a ticket is never treated as permission to email.

The beta starts with CSV exports from Audience Republic. More sources are planned.

Email designer In the beta

Emails that look
like your nights.

Drag in text, images, buttons and columns. Switch to mobile to see what most of your crowd will see. Already have a template? Paste the HTML or upload a ZIP with its images.

  • Layouts that adapt. Designs work on phones and in desktop inboxes.
  • Bring your own HTML. Imported HTML is kept in its own HTML mode. It isn’t rebuilt into blocks.
  • Drafts and templates. Save your work and reuse layouts for the next event.

Sending, test sends and scheduling are in development. The beta is for designing and drafting.

Signup forms, presales and segments Planned · in development

Turn an announcement
into a waiting list.

Signup forms will collect fans for a presale and record the consent wording with each signup. Presale campaigns will pair a form with an announcement and reminders that point to your event. Dynamic segments will keep the right people in each send.

Restricting presale access on another ticketing platform will depend on what that platform supports.

Ticket sales and reporting Planned · in development

Know which emails
sold tickets.

Pulse is being built to connect campaigns to purchases on AFTR DARK Tickets, with Eventbrite as the first external connection. Reports will separate what was delivered, opened and clicked from what was bought.

  • Honest numbers. Opens and clicks will be shown as observed, with privacy protections and automated scanners noted.
  • Revenue that adds up. Reported per currency and adjusted for refunds, never double-counted across campaigns.
  • A full picture of each fan. Purchase history on every profile, with attribution labelled.

Questions

Pulse, answered.

What is AFTR DARK Pulse?

Pulse is audience and email marketing for event organizers, built into Backroom, the same place you manage your AFTR DARK events. It is designed to help you grow your list, bring fans back for the next night and, as it develops, connect campaigns to ticket sales.

What can I use today?

Pulse is in beta. The first workflow is audience imports and email design: review a contact export, and design and draft emails in the drag-and-drop designer or in HTML.

Signup forms, presale campaigns, dynamic segments, sending, Eventbrite sync and delivery and conversion analytics are planned or in development. SMS is coming later.

Can I send emails with Pulse yet?

Not yet. You can design and draft emails now. Sending from your own authenticated domain, test sends and scheduling are in development, and no campaign email is sent during the beta build.

How do I get access?

During the beta, the AFTR DARK team switches Pulse on for each organizer. It uses your existing Backroom login. If you open Backroom and don’t see Pulse, it hasn’t been enabled for your organizer yet. Self-serve access will follow the beta.

Which contact lists can I bring in?

Imports start with CSV contact exports, beginning with Audience Republic exports. Pulse reviews the file before anything is saved and flags duplicates and invalid addresses. More sources are planned.

Does importing a list subscribe everyone on it?

No. Anyone who has unsubscribed from your organizer stays unsubscribed. A new import, a ticket purchase or a list refresh can’t opt them back in. Buying a ticket isn’t treated as permission to send marketing email.

Can other organizers see my audience?

No. Each organizer sees only their own contacts, campaigns and results. Being on one organizer’s list never lets another organizer email that person.

Does Pulse work with Eventbrite or other ticketing platforms?

AFTR DARK Tickets is the first connected source. Eventbrite is planned as the first external connection, covering orders and attendees your Eventbrite account is authorized to share. Neither sync is available in the beta yet.

What does Pulse cost?

Pulse pricing hasn’t been announced. AFTR DARK Tickets pricing is unchanged.

Is SMS included?

SMS is coming later, after the beta pilot. It will need its own consent: an email opt-in or a phone number on a ticket order never counts as permission to text.
